New CEO for Swedish Wind Energy
The trade association, Swedish Wind Energy, has appointed Annika Helker Lundström as its new CEO. She will take up the post during the second quarter of 2010.
For the past eleven years, Annika Helker Lundström has been CEO of the Swedish Recycling Industries' Association, a trade association affiliated to the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise. Before then, she worked for ten years at the Swedish Government Offices, focussing on energy and environmental issues. For the past three years, Annika has also been a member of the government's Commission for Sustainable Development. In 2008, Annika was awarded an honorary doctorate in sustainable development by Mälardalen University.
"We are very pleased that Annika Helker Lundström will be joining us as CEO of Swedish Wind Energy", says Anders Sjögren, Chairman of the Board of Swedish Wind Energy.
"The trade association has expanded rapidly over the past three years, and Annika's extensive experience will help to confirm the strong position Swedish Wind Energy has among politicians and at the Swedish Government Offices."
Swedish Wind Energy represents the wind power industry in Sweden, and currently has 127 member companies from a broad spectrum of Swedish and international enterprise. The association has an office and eight staff in Stockholm.
"I am looking forward to the challenges which the job of CEO for Swedish Wind Energy presents. Wind power is vitally important from a climate perspective, and the EU's ambitious targets for wind power expansion will make wind power a central issue in the Swedish energy debate for many years to come", says Annika Helker Lundström.
